Ive decided to keep it, cant live without it !! 12-22-2008 Asking price is $51,999 which is more than fair, especialy considering its $17k worth of mods. This is a great looking car, thats well taken care of, has great performance (dyno tested at 360 horsepower at wheels on a dyno!) and handles great. Its a stunning machine and it has legendary Honda reliability to boot. It has a clear title, has a clear carfax report, and I have never had any accidents, repaints, or any other body repair. ALL of the bodies vin tags are intact, and not modified. Ive owned this car for a little over 4 years now, and although this car has always been a dream car of mine, I now have too many cars, and not enough room to park them. Because this is the least driven car out of my "fleet" Ive decided to list it on Ebay. This car is in great mechanical shape, as well as cosmetic shape, and I would have no hesitation to take a long distance trip with it. If you have any questions about this car, message me through Ebay and we can discuss further. Ive been on Ebay now for 12 years, and am very proud of my feedback, and my reputation on Ebay. I am a man of my word, and strive to represent myself and my selling items well. Before you contact me though, here are some important facts. - I will NOT finance this cars purchase. You must have cash, and or have a check from your finance company. - I will not allow you to drive the car unless youve purchased it from me. Ill take you for a drive, and will be happy to show it to you though. Ive sold several high end sports cars before and am in no mood to give out free test drives, and drive all over town for people to see it who have no intention of buying. Heres the details. Kept out of rain, garaged, never red lined, and dealer maintained with no expense spared. Paint has showroom luster and gloss (with the usual minor scratches that have been touched up unprofessionally by hand by me). You have to know where to look for those touch ups, or you don't even notice them. Interior is also in excellent shape. Tires will probably need replacing in another 5 to 8k miles. I have only put about 1.5K miles during the last 12 months. That is my ONLY reason for letting her go. Wasn't an easy decision, and I will miss her . However, it's time to stop running away from that I don't drive her enough to justify keeping her. Master mechanic who services it at David McDavid Acura says it's the cleanest shape NSX he maintains. The dealer's number is (512)335-5555 if you want to call and inquire. They serviced it late last year. I've not taken it in for checkup this year because I've not driven it even 1.5 miles this year (but I do fire it up every and take it around the block at least every other weekend). No mechanical, electrical or any other kind of issues - EVERYTHING works as it should. Clean title. No accidents or fender benders. Feel free to PM me with your contact info. Can you provide dates and receipts on the preventive maintenance that listed out the timing belt, water pump, valve adjustment, new axles, steering rack rebuild by nsxrackrepair.com? If so, please send over a copy. This is a good question to ask. Find out when the timing belt and water pump were replaced as these are important. I believe they need to be replaced every seven years or 90k miles, which ever comes first. Another important thing are the 22 or 23 coolant hoses, as the rubber hoses may crack with age. This may be delayed or accelerated depending on the environment the car is in. Check for recalls done?
Can you provide with the car any past historical documentation such as past service records, manuals, etc?
Can you confirm there are no real issues to be aware of? No lights coming on, rust, marks or anything like that on the paint/body? Good thing the majority of the NSX is made out of aluminum so there isn’t much places for rust. Rust will mostly be on the nuts and bolts, and on the surfaces of steel alloy components (i.e., exhaust etc.) depending on the environment.
Can you provide a full list of the current mods on the car? I’m not sure if what is listed in the ebay listing is all of it but I’d like confirmation on this.
Which bumper is currently on the car? I know the listing says it has the wings west lip but the bumper itself looks slightly different from the stock 1994 bumper.
Has the lost motion assembly ever been rebuilt? If not is this in range of an issue to be concerned about on this particular NSX? The LMAs don’t get rebuilt, they get replaced. The earlier cars came with piston type LMAs, they later got superseded by spring type LMAs.
What are the conditions of the windows and its seals? Is there any experience of windows sliding down or not a good seal being experienced? The windows on the NSX are pretty slow, but there are mods to make it move faster (I.e., Hugo’s mod). The window regulators are prone to failure, I believe.
Are the pop up headlights working normally? Any signs issues with the pop up headlights?
Are there any other OEM parts or old parts that were on the car included?
How can we go about doing a PPI?
Asides from the body work and collision check, I have come to learn that the following items need attention on early NSXs if they have NEVER been replaced. Check the list below for items that have been taken care of and determine what needs to be done after ownership.
1. Belts (I.e., timing, accessory etc.), water pump 2. Replacing all seals and gaskets on engine 3. Coolant hoses and coolant tank 4. Radiator (oem radiators have plastic fittings that tend to crack from age, fortunately there are aluminum options) 5. Tail light gaskets (replace and aftermarket option) 6. Piston to spring LMAs 7. VVIS butterfly screws (loctite or weld) 8. Radio antenna (clean and lube) 9. Climate control unit (capacitors leak from age, BrianK repairs them) 10. SRS unit (capacitors leak from age. Discontinued from Honda, but BrianK repairs them) 11. Stereo, door speakers and amp (BrianK rebuilds them if they are failing) 12. Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder (replace since they leak with age) 13. Brake master cylinder (leaks with age), brake lines (discontinued from Honda for early models) 14. Rebuild brake callipers with Honda kits (rotors and pads are consumables) 15. Driveshafts (these need to be checked somewhat frequently from what I gathered since they get stressed from the geometry of the suspension, especially if lowered, and have aftermarket headers and exhaust installed. The additional heat from the aftermarket headers and exhaust wear down the grease quicker) 16. Window regulators (rebuild) 17. Main relay (replace or re-solder, the solders may crack with age) 18. Ignition switch (replace or rebuild?) 19. Starter (replace or rebuild) 20. Alternator (replace or rebuild) 21. Battery (replace) 22. R12 to R134A refrigerant conversion (early models) 23. Gauge cluster (capacitors leak with age and can set the car on fire, replace capacitors or let BrianK take care of it) 24. Negative terminal cable 25. Throttle cable (early models, discontinued from Honda I believe)
1963 Corvette Convertible The car has clearly had a top quality restoration, but not as an original car, and not as a restomod. This car was restored to be a very nice driver. This is a 327 300 hp. It had power steering and the brake master cylinder was upgraded to a dual master cylinder . And then it had aftermarket knock off wheels added to it, and a 4 wheel disc brake upgrade. So, what we have is a car that was given a high quality restoration, but originality was sacrificed in favor of drive-ability. This car was purposely built by me with the intention of keeping the car as my own personal driver, and then too many antique cars in the stable caused me to put the car up for sale.
Has been built as a driver with a 327 engine, rack and pinion steering, 5 speed transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, power rack and pinion steering, Vintage Air, new stock exhaust system and new Al Knoch interior. Comes with both convertible and hard tops. Owned since 2010. Car can be viewed in my garage on a 4 post lift. Everything has been sorted on the car with a fresh body on restoration just completed this year. Why buy a fixer when you can get one already done?
Frame on restoration Motor was been milled in the past so no VIN on motor, 461 heads have been overhauled and hardened seats installed. New base/clear paint in original white just a few hundred miles since paint, by one of the best Corvette shops in Houston, Richey Collision New dash pads New dash covering New sun visors New leather seats New door cards New Vintage Air New 5 speed Keisler transmission New Al Knoch interior New stock exhaust. New bumpers New Flaming river rack and pinion power steering New Flaming river steering column New dual MC and all new brake lines. 4 wheel disc brakes Newly updated original radio to modern am/fm by Electro-Tech Newly rebuilt 3261s carburetor Renewed front/rear suspension including new trailing arms Repro bolt on knock offs. 3 point seat belts Spare tire holder and S10 lightweight spare Hardtop has been restored inside. Included is a cart to store the hardtop. Very good condition frame with no rust in the usual Corvette places.
